The Ethics Of Information Exchange In Healthcare
First Line Software attended 'The ethics of information exchange in healthcare' meeting on April 2nd in Utrecht. This second annual meeting was sponsored by both the ECP | Platform for the Information Society and Nictiz, an e-health expertise center.
The focus of this meeting was on the exchange of information in healthcare – specifically the digital transfer of medical records, referrals and the exchange of medication information. A great deal of focus has been placed on the more tangible aspects such as language, technology, infrastructure and standards. During this meeting experts, philosophers and attendees discussed the softer elements; specifically, the role of ethics by design, ethics by implementation, and ethics by users on a case-by-case basis.
ECP | Platform for the Information Society is an independent and neutral platform where Dutch government, business and social organizations work together and exchange knowledge about the impact on and responsible application of new technologies in Dutch society.
